Wearable tech provides a great opportunity to involve many students who would not normally be interested in electronics.

The Adafruit Gemma is just one example of the low cost but powerful kit that is becoming available.

All of the hardware we talk about is inexpensive, and all of the software is open source. Workshops using it can be taught anywhere, with no need for internet access or special equipment. There are few concepts in coding that cannot be delivered using this approach.

We have run some free workshops for the public as part of Digimakers, Bristol. Mostly though we train or support teachers who want to do wearable projects with their students.

Do get in touch if you like what we are doing and want to put it to use. Our contact details are on the home page.
